I am enamored with moments that make your heart feel so vulnerable that it could be plucked from your chest and have always felt these most profoundly when I found them in narrative video games. At the same time, I have felt disregarded by the medium’s routine deficiency and debasement of women, people of color, and LGBT individuals.
My story began in the crux of these moments, when as a child I watched a brown girl turn white at the emotional climax of a game I loved. Now, my mission is to reconcile these moments.
Through poetic storytelling coupled with historical inspiration, I create emotional game experiences that value underrepresented people. I strive to change the negative culture surrounding marginalized identities in gaming spaces by imbuing my games with diverse, fully realized characters and engaging narratives.
